WHO IS MJ LAPZEE
Mbewe John aka MJ Lapzee is a Kabwe based rapper and a
teacher by professional who started his music career in 2008, with his clue “AMA
BALU PEOPLE”. Among his clue MJ Lapzee is the only one who is now a
professional musician.
In 2011, MJ Lapzee recorded his first song at Bstring Records
in Kapiri.Few years later all the members of his clue “AMA BALU PEOPLE”
decided to go solo. Left with no choice, MJ Lapzee decided to go solo too.
In 2013, MJ Lapzee met with Drimz whom he describes as a “good
friend” and together they have worked on three music collaborations, the first was sugar no” Buchi” second “kanyimbo”
which came out in 2014 and the third one
is “weekend”.
Being a
determined and visionary person MJ Lapzee is, come cold, sunshine or rain this
young Kabwe musician has not shown any signs of losing speed in his quest to
penetrate through the thick forest of Zambian/African music at large.
From 2014 until
now MJ Lapzee has been working with Dj Kabz at Kabz Beats and together they have
worked on a number of songs.
The year 2016 did not pass MJ Lapzee
without doing what he is known for in his home town, those that had chance to
see him perform in Kabwe, Kapiri, Choma, Lusaka and Chongwe can testify that
this young Kabwe artist is truly a bomb. His songs have been receiving massive
support and air plays on different radio stations.
On 30th January 2017 MJ
Lapzee is likely to release his new song “Tekanyafye’ produced by Kabzbeats.Watchout
out for his clothing line dabbed “Ama teamyakalamba”.
