Who was Elizabeth Bathory ?

Elizabeth Bathory was a Hungarian noblewoman who lived in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. She is considered to be one of the most prolific serial killers in history, with an estimated death toll of 600 young girls and women.

Bathory believed that bathing in the blood of virgins would keep her young and beautiful, and she would often abduct young women from nearby villages to carry out her gruesome practices. She would then torture, mutilate, and kill them, often biting chunks of flesh from their bodies.

Bathory was eventually caught and imprisoned in her castle, where she died several years later. Despite her heinous crimes, she was never formally tried in a court of law due to her noble status. The story of the Blood Countess has become a symbol of the extreme cruelty that some people are capable of, and it continues to fascinate and horrify people to this day.
