Charcoal burning in Zambia
Charcoal burning in countries like Zambia is a source of employment and a primary source of household energy for cooking. This is due to high electricity tarrifs , Loadsheding, high electricity connection fees and unemployment.
Controlling deforestation is now a bigger problem than it was before. It's nolonger a question of climate change awareness and innovation but a question of political will.
World leaders meet to discuss issues to do with climate change yet when they return to their respective countries very little is done.
If only more funds can be channeled towards research and development than politics a number of African countries would be better placed in the fight against climate change.
