 The satin bird or the bowerbird


 (Ptilonorhynchus violaceus), is a passerine bird, common in the rainforests and wet sclerophyll forests of eastern Australia, from southern Queensland to Victoria. There is also an isolated population, in the rainforests of northern Queensland.

🖤 It is a bird that exhibits a complex courting ritual. Male choice was studied in detail. They build specialized structures made from branches, which they decorate with yellow, blue and shiny objects, including berries, flowers, as well as pens, straws and other plastic materials. As the male matures, they use more and more blue-colored objects. Females visit these structures and choose which male will mate with them. Additionally, males perform display dances, which can sometimes be seen as threatening dances by females. Nest building and incubation are carried out by the female
