Culture and cross dressing

 Cross dressing

Cross dressing in the religious cycles and some cultures Sparks heavy condemination. It is believed that a man is not supposed to wear women garmats and no woman is to wear male garmats. People who cross dress in some African societies are considered to be immoral and are believed to be homosexuals. In the religious cycles cross dressing is seen as a sinful act.

Cross dressers on the other hand believe that fashion has no gender and what a person decide to wear has nothing to do with homosexuality, morality and the relationship one has with God.

A look into history and culture of different tribes and groups of people clearly shows that  dress like garmats and skirts were not restricted to any gender.

During traditional ceremonies in Zambia for example kuomboka ceremony of the lozi speaking people, men wear traditional skirts called Musisi. It is the way they are supposed to be dressing but because of the effects of colonialism, tribes men reserve skirts for traditional events.

In North, west and east of Africa are tribes of people who also have a culture of men wearing dress like garmats.

Talk of the Chinese in Asia, Scottish in Europe and the Catholics in the Christian cycles have a culture of men wearing dress like garmats.

What ever the debate that cross dressing brings about,we can only hope for a more peaceful world.
