Members of the Huichol tribe in Mexico view childbirth as a time of great pain and pleasure that must be shared by both men and women the time of childbirth, the father is placed on top of the wife. His testicles are tied to a rope, the two ends of which remain in the mother's hands. 

The latter can pull the rope during her contractions to share her pain with the father.When the baby is born, the father and mother, having shared a tremendous pain, now feel the joy of welcoming their baby.
