Orichalcum is mentioned in several other ancient writings, not just in Plato’s story of Atlantis. And it’s not red, it looks more like gold than anything.

It’s been determined to be a slightly variable content alloy of 75-80 percent copper, 15-20 percent zinc and small percentages of nickel, lead, and iron. It was quite widely known and used across the Ancient Mediterranean world.
