But in Greenland, women have been wearing such adorable fur thongs for a long time.



Captain C. Ryder, who came to Greenland on an exploration trip in 1892, saw the thongs on the local women. How he came by them, we will probably never know.

But he brought some of them back to the civilized world.

At the same time, people there were wearing balloon-shaped giant lovestoppers.

Now these fancy pieces are on display in the museum.

I wonder if they are made of sealskin?
