His act of removing his turban in public (prohibited by his religion) brought him in media limelight when he helped an injured boy. It was a simple act of kindness but had profound meaning and undercurrent of humanity. Undoubtedly, the whole world hailed his selfless act.
In the latest recognition of saluting the spirit of this young man, during the Counties Manukau police district awards, he was bestowed with the district commander’s certificate of appreciation held at Manukau Institute of Technology.
