The Ethiopian alphabet also known as Ethiopic or Geez is Africas oldest alphabet still in use today and dates back to 800 BC.


The Ethiopic alphabet consists of 26 letters, that can be transformed into syllabic symbols by attaching the appropriate vocalic markers to the letters.
