Impressive: This is the RMS Queen Elizabeth pulling into New York with returning US Servicemen in 1945. Finally WW2 is over!

While interviewing a number of surviving veterans who were loaded aboard QUEEN ELIZABETH for the Crowded not the word for it. One man described "no place to sit down...I literally 'walked' all the way back to the states around the deck elbow to elbow with others." Another reported, "Some of us climbed up in the lifeboats to sit so we could get away from the congestion on deck." Also interviewed a number of older World War II brides from Europe with their babies [many] with them sailing here to meet their husbands. They were a great and wonderful generation.
