A War Veteran of Leningrad in 1989, who served in the military during the Siege of Leningrad, which took place during World War II. The Siege lasted from 1941 to 1944 and was one of the longest and most destructive sieges in modern history.

During the Siege, Leningrad was cut off from the rest of the world, and the city's residents faced extreme conditions, including famine, disease, and constant bombing. War veterans of Leningrad would have survived these conditions and served in the defense of the city during the Siege.
